·         serve at sea for at least 6 months

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will prepare candidates involved in taking charge of the launching or handling of survival craft to achieve an appropriate level of competence and confidence in such operations.

Much of the course is practical in nature and candidates will benefit from being able to gain practical experience of operating totally enclosed life boats and inflatable rescue boats.

As well as dealing with the main features of different types of survival craft and their launching appliances, the course emphasizes the need for safe operating procedures.
