COURSE DESCRIPTION

The trainees who successfully complete this course will have gain experience in handling ships under various conditions and will make a more effective contribution to the bride team during ship manoeuvering.

On completion of the training, trainees should:

·         Be able to prepare and execute a detailed passage plan

·         Be aware of the need to achieve the best use of available resources for the safe navigation of the ship

·         Be able to use effective communication skills within a bridge team

·         Be aware of the necessity and value of effective response to navigational emergencies

·         Be able to interpret and make proper use of the ships manoeuvring data
